upgrading

its been a while, and I am not current with GPU/CPU class one cards.

I just got a dirt cheap ($200) OLD 2004 Aurora ALIENWARE Desktop- tower/keyboard/mouse/monitor 19" 1280x1024 at Yard Sale (abit av8) in a RAIDMAX case. (Its gonna be the family PC since my 2007 Alienware M5790 SE Notebook (ATI x1900/ overclocked C2D T7600G 2.67Ghz ) is getting old and overheating, and I have since migrated to the Xoom 4g lte Honeycomb/ICS Android Tablet as my personal pc of choice)

I plan to upgrade it, keep the case/power supply (if its a 600W), but I want at least a dual core CPU, and a class 1, class 2 GPU

It currently runs a abit av8 MB, so that definity has to go. PCI 9600XT and Athlon 64 3500 (overclocked to 2.6GHZ)

I already replaced the 40GB 4800 HDD with a 320GB 7200, and ghosted the OS back to it. Vista was too sluggish before I overclocked the CPU, and considering its a single core, I installed XP SP3 Pro for now.

So, new MB, New CPU, NEW PCI GPU- I might not game on it, but a gaming rig is my benchmark (futureproof).
