video and audio lag due to 100% CPU

This is my first post and i'm not really an expert with computers

when ever i watch a video on my computer or listen to music at some point the entire laptop slows down and starts lagging and it happens whenever the CPU reaches 100% and it takes about 5 minutes and sometimes longer to go back to normal.

I've taken unnecessary programmes of start-up, scanned my laptop for viruses and any other infections and de fragmented and cleaned the disk and it still keeps happening and it's gotten to the point where i feel like throwing it out the window:sa:

any help is appreciated

What program is hitting 100%?

Have task manager open with it sorta by % and see whats using the resource.

taskmgr.exe CPU gets really high and chrome.exe but i think it's taskmgr.exe because it never use to reach a high limit before

Have you run it on firefox? or I.E.?

I've n ot used chrome, but it sounds as if chromes getting confused.

Mr T,How much memory(RAM) do you have in your system.

i have 2GB RAM

Mr T,since you have 2gb of Ram,We can rule out your PC having less memory.I couldnt find specific solution to your problem.But just found a few methods others have tried.
