Solved video card driver hiccup ?

My computer has done this with both my previous and current video cards.

My 39 inch hdtv monitor natural resolution is 1920x1080. I have the driver set to that.

But the edges of the display goes beyond the edge of the screen. I'm using HDMI cable to connect the monitor qand the computer.

The tv/monitor does have zoom sizes. Wide, cinema, normal, zoom. Only wide shows most of the screen. The Time/date is cut off on the right, systray is cut off on the bottom, the 'start menu' part is cut off to the left.

I did try the screen resolution registry item, no change.

I have the latest video driver.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

Thanks.

it was restore_default_96dpi.reg, not screen resolution.

Try checking to be sure that the settings are not for dual monitor
Understanding multiple monitors
Try to install the prvevious version of the driver.

My computer has always thought I had 2 monitors. I only use one.

edit: Detect button isn't there. I kmnow at work if there is only one, and it thinks there are 2, clicking the Detect button gets rid of the second monitor.

by using resize in my nvidia control panel I can now see all icons, buttons, clock and calendar. But my display says it is: 1862 x 1048. Found some missing icons to.

Whoosh !

Refresh was 30Hz. I changed it to 60Hz, and the screen at 1920x1080 is normal agani.

I didn't think the refresh rate would change the size of the display.

The Nvidia control panel only sees one monitor, and the Personalize -> Display Settings has 2.
