Video Card question

Hello guys my bro just bough the xfx 4850 and 700w ocz power supply he didnt know how to install it so he contacted hp he has the m8430f hp said that the system might not be able to handle a power supply thats stornger then the one provided...so would it be a problem if i switch the power supply o 700w one and the 8500gt with the 4850? do i just uninstall the 8500gt drivers and switch the cards and the power supply and install new drivers to the 4850? hes running on vista 4bit i would really like help in the most basic form of words u can put it in because im not the best with computers

Hello Soldier,

With this card, you need to make sure the mobo can hold it, as well as having the extra power cable for it.

I think Dell does this, I don't know about HP: They have their mobo's specially made with power connections that only work with their PSUs. So make sure you are VERY careful there, because if you are wrong, you WILL destroy the mobo and possibly the PSU. Other than that, installing a video card and PSU is very simple. Just unplug and unscrew the old PSU, and put in the new one in reverse of that order. Video card, pull out old one, push in new one. Done. Make sure it is seated properly.

I think you may have to call HP. I don't even know if they do that, its just something I heard about.
