I got rid of my Nvidia Video Card and Went an Bought A ATI 512 Video CARD.


when I had the NVIDIA VIDEO CARD i updated drivers from windows update for windows vista.

Then The Display Desktop Re-Set and stopped Holding The Setting I had already had set in my computer settings.

The Display Setting's Went From 1280x1024 -to-800x600 .

By Buying a New Video card I thought that would solve the problem since Nvida screwed up with the help of a updated driver from microsoft,

Now How Do I fix The Display-Setting's On My Desktop After I re-start My COMPUTER the setting's should stay the same for what I set them to but they don't they go to 800x600 Game Mode and I don't Play Games.



Doe's any One here Know How to Alter RegEdit to fix this so that Display Setting's Stay the way there supposto be set after i set them even with the knew video card drivers.

Welcome to the forum.

I would not use the driver updates from Windows Updates. Instead, I would use the ones straight from the manufacturer. They usually work better and more up to date. For ATI, see:

Still the same problem I tryed a few diffrent location's trying to fix desktop Vista-Restore lastnight didn't do there has to a NVIDIA file still blocking it some where in regedit there has to a manul fix where the Display Setting are to use with Current video card and none of thease tech support guys who ARE MCSPC trained can't even find there use to be a fix in win 95/98.andd Millenium MY friend who lived in the usa fixed my win xp pro for me went back to millenium then back to xp
and it was to change only 2 file to make it RollBack to Millenium but he took the 1 week and solved plus Gave me a Genorator microsoft gave to register Millenium oe any version of xp and yea know they still work's lol
I uselly pretty go when it comes to window's put together my owen web pages when there was only text and dos to do in the early HTML days

I do not know where the registry settings are for this.

If you have a Vista Express or Retail DVD, then I would try doing a Repair install. This will allow you to repair your Vista installation without losing your files, settings, and programs.

After this, install the driver from ATI's site in the above post.

The CMD commands are pretty much the same as dos commands in earlyer version of windows
it's how you Impliment them..
I FIXED the problem of my Display Setting's In Vista for 32/64 the settings for are Extactly the same commands in The CMD which is the dos mode setting's i have my computer set i don't have to revert to admistrators settings just to add or remove a certan text file or command it took me a bit to go through the setting's the old dos commands will work if they are expands to the compatible mode you're systems bios should also have thease settings to depends on you're mother board some have thease setting's aready build right into them guys i had one that did as a back up. I passed the Message to Brink about fixing the settings hope he can brake them down to make it easyer to under stand.
