Vista only registers 2 out of 4 Gb of ram
I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 with a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P mother board and a set of G-skill 2gb F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ RAM My mother board recognizes 4.098 Gb of RAM so my question is why does Vista think i have 2Gb of RAM and what can i change so that i can use all 4Gb?

Did you install the RAM or did the vendor. The DIMMs have to installed in specific slots on most mobo's if you use two sticks.
Try pulling and reseating the DIMMs.

I installed them and i have ejected them and reseated them (first thing i did actually) The ram is in the correct slots as well. Again my bios states that there is 4.098Gb of ram available so i doubt it has to do with the motherboard.

Where do you see that there is only 2 Gb of ram?
If you open Task Manager\Processes, is there any programs running that seem to be using an inordinate amount of Ram.

I see 2Gb of ram in Control Panel\System and Security\System and in the task manager. explorer uses up the most when I'm not running the internet or a game.

If it still shows 2 Gb in cpu-z, then I suspect that one of the sticks is bad. You can run memtest.
