hi,new to this,so please bear with me.
have just built my first computer,using a asus p5kpl-cm motherboard,with a intel core2quad core Q6600,2x1 1gb blackdragon 1066 ddr2,500gb sata2 hard drive,a nvidi geforce 9800 gt 1gb graphic's card.
i installed XP sp3,and it ran beautiful,i then got vista ultimate,it loads to the point of desktop, then reboots leaving a black screen, with this in the top left of the screen:-- BOOTING"WINDOWS VISTA".
ACPI
VISTA LOADER 2.0.0
DONE!
FALLBACK 1
FIND--SET-ROOT/BOOTMGR.
and then the cursor just flashes and you can not do nothing with the comp apart from reinstall XP.
i went to the computer shop where i bought all the bits from and asked if he knew what the problem was,he said it could of been power supply not strong enough,so fitted new power supply, and i still get the same problem,so he suggested coming to this forum and asking you guy's and girls.
