Solved VIsta won't run

Hello,

After creating a snaphoot of my Windows partition (so that I can easily refresh the OS in the case of a virus or something) I had to remove all my partiions.

Then I created a partition the same as the previous was, and copied the snaphoot there. The problem is that Windows Vista won't run, and I don't know why.

The size of the partition, the filesystem, the data are all the same (even the md5sum of the partition is the same!). I don't know what to do with that issue.

The snapshoot was created in that way:
Code:
backup_date='2012.05.27'
backup_filename='VistaBackup_'$backup_date
summers='md5sum sha1sum sha224sum sha256sum sha384sum sha512sum'

for summer in $summers; do $summer /dev/sda1 > $backup_filename.$summer; done && \
dd if=/dev/sda1 | 7za a -y -si $backup_filename.7z && \
for summer in $summers; do $summer $backup_filename.7z > $backup_filename.7z.$summer; done && \
echo 'snapshoot created';
and restored just like that:
Code:
backup_date='2012.05.27'
backup_filename='VistaBackup_'$backup_date
summers='md5sum sha1sum sha224sum sha256sum sha384sum sha512sum'

for summer in $summers; do $summer -c $backup_filename.7z.$summer; done && \
7za x -y -so $backup_filename.7z | dd of=/dev/sda1 && \
for summer in $summers; do $summer -c $backup_filename.$summer; done && \
echo 'the state of the partition was restored';

I was doing the snaphoots many times, and everything was all right. But this time after removing the partition, and creating the same one, something have gone wrong :(

Please advice.

usasma,
Thank you for you response.
Unfortunately, my recovery disc doesn't have "Startup Repair" option. I bought Vista OEM with HP notebook, and when I boot my recovery disk, there are three options:
* restore your system to a given point in time
* restore your system to the initial state
* backup you directories

My disk doesn't contain Microsotft software, but HP software and, as mensioned, there is no "Startup Repair" option.

You gave me a link to the hardware diagnostics. I have found there some bootable rescue disks.
Maybe there is a bootable rescue disk that could perform a startup repair. Have you heard about such a tool?

I have found that:
Create a System Repair Disc in Windows 7 - How-To Geek
but this description was created for Windows 7 users. Do you think the same method would work in Vista?
