Solved Want To Re install Vista

Hi everyone, I'm new to forum as only found it today after trolling internet trying to get help. I have an Acer Aspire AX3810 desktop pc. It came with windows vista and service pack 1 installed. I created 2 recovery discs when new and over years had to use them a couple of times. earlier this year I had windows 7 installed by someone, but to be honest pc isn't performing too great at times so I wanted to reinstall vista, thinking (stupidly) that all I had to do was run recovery discs. That didn't work so I wanted to know, if I get a vista ISO and install that will that put my pc back to how it was. Thanks for any help guys

In answer to your question will it put my computer back to how it was?
Answer No
What you will get will be better as you won't have the Acer software you will just have Vista

Sorry to be a bother but I need some more help. I reinstalled Vista, which is all working great, but I keep getting a pop up saying "The Windows Home Vista Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" Yet I typed in the key that is on my pc. Does that mean i'll have to buy another key?

I'd be interested in the resolution of this problem, but if the OP never returns to the forum I suppose we'll never know...
Also he said his original recovery discs didn't work, I wonder why not?

Hi Virtual6, I don't know why the recovery discs didn't work as I had used them before with no problems. I'm glad now that they didn't as the install with the ISO is better with there being none of acer software downloaded. Computer is all working good now
