Um... Whenever I quit POP - The 2 Thrones, Windows Media Center starts up... Why's that?
There's a Media Center icon in the game's instalation folder called Prince Of Persia but deleting it didn't do anything.
So, anyone knows what's the problem? Why is Media Center starting eery time I ge out of the game? How do I disable that?
I looked in the Media Center options but there isn't anything.

Hm, I have Bioshock too, but when I quit the game, nothing like that happens. In fact, I have more games listed in the Games folder and none of them exhibits that.
There are 2 types of the games listed in the games folder.

1 - Games which are in Vista database (it's looked up on the net) and if they are installed, they are listed here.

2 - Games that integrate themselves into this folder (like Bioshock). As far as i know, this type of games also installs something like media center extension. If they are here, they are in MC as well.

I will look what can be done about it when i get home, but i assume that renaming (not deleting, just to be sure) the "MC extension" can resolve this.

I will keep you posted.

Hm, I don't know if any of this will help, because i can't force this problem to exhibit on my machine, but this is what i found.

I have 2 games that integrated themselves into MC database - Bioshock and QW:Enemy territory demo. Both have this MC "plugin". It's a simple xml file and structure is almost the same in both cases. With this xml, there is also .lnk file to actually launch the game and a .png file containing an MC and games folder icon.

If i simply right click on the shortcut in games folder and choose to hide the game, it will not automatically hide it within MC too and vice versa, if hidden (by right clicking) in MC, it still stays in games folder. So, try hiding the icon in both.

Renaming or deleting .xml and/or .lnk and .png has no effect on hiding the game in neither games folder, nor MC database. Which is strange. But it can help.

Again, i can't test the result, so if it's worth the hassle, try it yourself :)

I wonder, is there any database file of MC items somewhere? There has to be :)

Sounds like an assoiation betwen filees. Go into file associations and it may solve this. This would work under xp and earler systems. If you can find the place to change it under vista I would like to find out how.
