Where did oobe.xml go?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, just purchased, & wanted to delete all the trial software offers in the Welcome Center (Vista Home Premium).

I made a copy of oobe.xml for backup, & this backup file was listed, cyoobe.xml. I exited DOS & went back in. Both oobe.xml & cyoobe.xml had disappeared. Is there any way I can retrieve these files?

I want to know what happened to files, oobe.xml & cyoobe.xml, & can the be retrieved? Why did they disappear, when I didn't delete them?

Can the oobe.xml file be downloaded?
