Which Vista do I have?

Ok, so I am trying to use a system restore disk for my friend's computer that I downloaded. The computer have Vista, now I have a 32 bit and 64 bit disc. How can I find out which version of Vista I have? I cannot boot into window or safe mode ( I could figure it out from there). I also tried to check the Bios and saw nothing. The laptop only has 2 gigs of RAM I think, so I would assume 32 Bit, but I want to be sure.

Also, if I used the wrong one, would it mess up the computer? or could I just redo it with the other CD?

Thanks,
Daniel

If you are trying to reinstall, just do a clean install using the 32 bit, which is the best choice for your computer with 2gb of ram.

The clean install, will be basically a start over. You will have to reinstall programs and you will lose everything else, such as mail etc.

You could try a repair install using the 32, if wrong nothing will be broken or damaged, but you may have to do a clean install to correct what was done. You should get a warning however, if you try to make a repair with 32 when the system is 64 bit, but nothing is certain.
