I do not have Basic and do not know anyone who has. In theory everything that is listed under basic should work
Compare Windows Vista - Microsoft Windows
To be honest many are not satisifed with the performance on a computer such as the one you mentioned. There may be slowness etc.

Hello, your system specs you posted show Win7 , as Vista will lose support in near future and most people are going to be upgrading to Win 7 or the 8, why would you want Vista ? You could always run the program that checks it out for you. Scratch that, i was trying to find the Vista compatability checker but found this instead : Windows Vista Compatibility Center

I can understand your position. If you prefer Vista, you could certainly give it a try on your computer. Do not be surprised by slow internet, ocasional memory problems and other headaches. If you still want to give it a try post and I will get information that can help

The only reason I wonder if it will work is that I cannot find a Wireless .inf or .exe driver for my Atheros AR5B97 Adapter. If anyone can find it, I will gladly try it.

If you do find and download drivers be sure that it is from an official site. Unknown sites can give you much more than drivers; Virus malware and more could surprise you

Actually I have downloaded drivers from that site before, and it worked. Just never found Vista Driver.

I am only seeing drivers for 7 on that site. I don't know if 7 drivers work on Vista but I have had some Vista drivers work on 7. I've never tried any 7 drivers on Vista.

Just wanted to update. I ended up using the Windows 7 drivers from the eMachines website, and everything worked besides WiFi. I ended up going to Walmart and buying a 30 dollar Wireless USB Adapter.

Yeah I've found that in some cases the drivers for each OS are interchangeable. I know that for my computer the only Vista drivers that don't work in 7 are for the sound card.
