Solved Windows Dreamscene Problem.

I have a problem with windows dreamscene. When I try to apply downloaded .wmv dreamscenes from sites such as dreamscene.org or and custom .wmv for that matter, it works but when I restore a minimized window and then if if i x out or go back to my desktop the dreamscene which is a custom .wmv is paused...when I right click to hit play dreamscene i cannot for it is already supposedly playing..and sometimes when apply a custom .wmv it experiences that problem and it will also sometimes cause explorer.exe to crash and then ask me to restart explorer.exe or find solution online? I don't think this is a dreamscene bug, so what is it?

Hello Isikh,

Open the Power Options window and check to see if under Windows DreamScene settings and Power Saving Mode, you have High Performance selected for the settings to hopefully stop this problem for you.

Option Two in this tutorial will help show you how to open Power Options if needed.

I had a simular problem but I didn't experience it with minimizing windows as I don't minimize my windows that often, however it was caused by a codec pack that I had installed and the trigger was a UAC prompt.

Also, in that software invironment it seamed to only affect wmv and not mpg videos.

haha I know how to get there...and since its a desktop on first boot I set all power options to high performence/to my liking

yeah it was a codec pack I uninstalled it
