windows mail pop-up

I tried to get windows mail to stop being my e-mail server since I have optimum and when I got rid of windows e-mail I can no longer even open windows e-mail with out a pop up box that says,"Windows mail can't be opened. A software restriction policy is preventing windows mail from opening. Contact your system administrator for more information."

What do I need to do to restore Windows Mail the way it was before I screwed it up?

Go to search by the start button, type default program
In default make sure that Windows Mail is not your default and your choice is.
