Windows Mail problem

I use Windows Mail and I've noticed in the past week whenever I try to use my mouse wheel to move my page up and down quickly, it jumps all over the place. I might try to roll up just a few lines to see something, and it will jump up way above that. I can grab the bar at the side with my mouse and move the page up and down smoothly, but it won't move smoothly when I try to use the mouse wheel. I'm not having any trouble using the wheel anywhere else that I have found -- only in the Windows Mail application.

Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it, please?

What version of Outlook are you running. When in Outlook you are not accidentally pressing down on the mouse wheel by chance right? Also are you using a USB wireless mouse or wired PS2 one. I would try uninstalling the driver if wireless, disconnecting the mouse/keyboard USB plugin and reconnecting and letting it auto re-install the drivers. If that does not work let me know.

I messed around with the settings on the mouse, just changing things back and forth, and it seems to be some better now. I'm not sure what you mean when you ask me what version of Outlook I am running because I didn't know I was running Outlook at all. Unless Windows Mail is a part of that or something.

No, I'm not pressing down the the wheel. It is a wireless Logitech mouse and keyboard. I can scroll up and down in this forum, for instance, without any jerking or problem at all. It's only in Windows Mail where the problem occurs. I'm talking the desktop Windows Mail (similar to Outlook Express) -- not Windows Live Mail or whatever they call it.

I just assumed you were using Outlook because that is the most common Windows mail application and what I deal with on a daily basis for my company. With the Logitech mouse and keyboard I would recommend doing a driver uninstall though, I have had a couple instances where my Logitech drivers corrupted or stopped working correctly. A re-install does the trick.

Open start > Right click Computer > Click Device Manager to the left > Under mouse and keyboard should say HID keyboard and the same under Mouse > Right Click on each and uninstall > Remove USB dongle > Reinsert and Drivers will auto install
