Windows Mail

I have a new laptop which has Vista home installed on it. It also has Windows Mail as the default email program. I need to change the subject on a lot of my emails, I cannot seem to do this.
In Outlook , it was easy... I just highlited and typed in the new subject.
I do have Microsoft Outlook installed on the laptop, but I did want to try Winmail.

Can someone tell me how to change the subject please?

Hi 84luck,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

You should be able to change them to whatever you like when you are replying or forwarding the emails.

If you are just wanting to change them to just change them in your Windows Mail, then it may be easier to just forward them to yourself with the changed subject.

Thankyou for your help.
I will do as you have suggested, as I have sort of figured out that there are no settings anywhere that will allow me to change the subject.
Would you know if there is a setting somewhere that will correct my spelling mistakes and incorrect punctuation as a I type the email, rather than have to go back and check the mistakes, by going into tools.
My microsoft outlook would correct as I typed.

Sorry, Windows Mail does not have inline spell checking. You might consider using the free Windows Live Mail (WLM) instead. It supports Pop3, IMAP, HTTP website (EX: Hotmail) email, and is a lot more stable. Plus, WLM will minimize to a tray bar icon, check spelling as you type, and has a separate Inbox for each email account. WLM will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts, and settings into it. Contacts will have to be manually imported from within WLM. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for current Windows User.) To see the Menu bar, press ALT+M and check Show all menus.
