For Seven and Vista http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/24232-sharing-permissions.html You may need ownership first, if you cannot change permissions http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html Be sure that you have everything that you need from Windows.old, if it is your only back up.
