Windows Photo Gallery help

Hello everyone,

This is all very new to me, so I apologise If I come across as being a bit dim when it comes to computers.

My pc is Vista Home Premium 32bit and I have Canon Digital Photo Professional on it, which I constantly work with. I also have Windows photo Gallery which I am not very keen on at all. My question is: Can I delete WPG from my computer? I want to have a good clean up and I find that if I delete a photo from WPG it also deletes the same one from my Canon folders. If it is not possible to delete wpg then am I able to turn it off?

The other problem that I have is when I send photos to my mum. She saves them from email (all I know is that she saves as jpeg) but when she goes into her Windows Photo Gallery, it is opening my photos as thumbnails. So for some reason her computer is squashing the photos down. Whenever I send photos to other people, there isnt a problem.

I hope my post make sence and if anybody needs any more information I will try to find it. As I say I'm a bit dim when it comes to computers  :D

Regards
Maisey

First of all Unfortunately you cannot uninstall Windows Photo Gallery because it is Part of Vista and it is very hard to do so and even then you may get errors and Possibly Blue Screens.

And can I ask how is your Mum saving the Pictures has she tried saving them as Bitmap instead of jpeg?

Hope This Helps,
Josh

Here are some links about disabling Windows Photo Gallery.

Edit: Second link removed.

Regarding the emailed pictures, it's not impossible that
your email provider resized the images to conserve bandwidth.

If you want, you can put several image files in a folder and
archive the folder as a zipfile.

Then upload the zip to a file hosting service.
Email the download link to your mum.

I like to use this one for files up to 50MB.

Sorry Josh bitmap didnt work.

Ardneh, I managed to send 1 photo via Tiny but I can't seem to get it upload the whole file. I thought I would be able to click on 'select all' but it's not highlighted.

I also went into 'turn windows on/off' and scrolled down clicking on the + bits and I couldnt find it on the list. Could it be listed under some other name ? Thank you for your info. M

Re: TinyUpload

Right-click Desktop > New > Folder (Name it as you wish)

Copy/paste several photos into the folder.

Right-click the folder.

Send To > Compressed (zipped) Folder

Upload the zipped folder to TinyUpload.

I've removed the one link, couldn't find that on my Vista either.
