SP2 fails error Code 80070002

I am plague with Vista Business update to SP2 with the error Code 80070002
I have performed all the "Get help with this error" suggestions. The System Update Readiness Tool has run and completed with no problem and I have tried installing SP2 from the stand alone download

1.Try reset the whole WU in aggresssive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?
2.Try install SP2 standalone version in safe mode

I have tried both of your suggestions this morning with no sucess

Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as admin)
and type:

sfc /scannow

If it don't help find in folder C:\Windows\LOGS\CBS file CBS.log ->pack it and upload it on RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

Remove below files and folders (some of them you may don't have already)

Folders directly from C:

file SPC_SP2_Wave0.xml from C:\Windows\System32

all *.xml files from C:\Windows\WinSxS

empty folder C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp

Besides open regedit find key HKEY_LOCALE_MACHINE\Components

and make sure you don't have any extra strings more which I showed below:

If you have any extra strings which I don't have then you have to remove them +restart

Then you remove these files & folders try again install SP2 in safe mode

I have a file cleanup.xml that I can't delete because I can't get permission
I can't empty folder c:\windows\winsxs\temp because I can't get permission

I don't have any extra strings

Also Update for Windows Vista (KB973917)
Installation date: ‎13/‎07/‎2010 10:02
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 80073712

sp2 is now failing error 8000ffff

First you have to takeownership file,folder http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html

Mostly cases this error relate to damages in C:\Windows\WinSxS folder,although issue with the data,time is also possible
from this MS advice The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, or you receive error code "0x80073712" when you try to use Windows Update

check data and time and run sfc /scannow command

On MS is only this one Error when you download updates using Windows Update or Microsoft Update: 8000FFFF
-I mentioned about this in previous post

I thought from your first post your CheckSur.log was empty (without any errors),but from you error codes what you have it shouldn't.If nothing help Please
empty C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder,run Readiness Tool again,next find in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder CheckSur.log file and attache to post.
Besides find in C:\Windows\System32\config folder COMPOPONENTS file,pack it to *.zip format and upload on rapidshare
