I have not received a Vista update since August 2016.
Is Microsoft issuing anymore?

Thanks - guess I'll just have to be extra careful!Hi bromberg:
Extended support for Vista SP2 does not end until 11-Apr-2017 (see Microsoft's Windows Lifecycle Fact Sheet) so you should be receiving security updates on Patch Tuesdays (the second Tuesday of each month) for a few more months.
That being said, many Vista SP2 users are currently having problems with extremely slow Windows Updates where the initial "Checking for updates..." phase hangs for several hours (or even days) and consumes one core of the CPU (e.g., 50% CPU activity with a dual core CPU) while the Windows Update Agent searches for available updates. Please today's post # 485 in ScousaJAY's thread windows update just seems to hang while checking for a possible workaround.

Hello again Jody Thornton. Some might not comprehend your concern about the plight of an OS you are no longer using, but I know you were as attached to Vista as I am. I'm afraid that using Vista has begun to feel very much like a cruise on the Titanic. No, Microsoft has not issued any updates to fix our Windows Update problems, which have been growing progressively worse since August 2015. Why would they? Vista users are just a group who should purchase Windows 10 PCs ASAP, otherwise a burden that they will soon rid themselves of. It's not that our antique Windows Update Agent is completely dysfunctional. If a Vista PC is fully patched as of December 2016 (as mine is), and if Microsoft issues only one security update for Vista (as they did on January 10), then we don't have to resort to manually installing any "speed-up" patches in order to get it. Of course I have hidden that update (KB3216775). If there's only one thing Microsoft can think of that is "Important" for Vista now, I figure it might very well contain nagware set to explode in our faces on April 11. Speaking of which, Microsoft Security Essentials begins to nag on January 10.I have wondered if any recent updates might fix this automatic updates issue. Is anyone able to successfully use Automatic Update in Vista?
