Hi, I'm new to the site. I have a desktop run on Vista Home Premium x64 bits HP model 9340f. Quad CPU 2.66GHz and 6GB of RAM. Lately I got BSOD and or freeze upon booting...with all different codes each time. I ran SFC /scannow and got the cbs.log but have no idea how to fix it. I have not installed any hardware on this computer. Please help.

I can't seem to zip the cbs.log file. I use winrar.
Thanks

Update outdated listed drivers. If I have inadvertently listed any Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver

Run for 8 passes
If passes try a good stick in each slot for 3 passes
If fails do the same for 8 passes.

It usually takes multiple BSODs to remedy the situation. I am sure that you will get additioanl BSODs, when you do just post and I will give you additional steps which may help. Until then follow the above as they are the most likely causes.
