Bluescreen & Crashdump after Login

Hello,

Currently, my computer will always crash whenever I login to any profile on my computer. This is what occurs.

1. Boot up computer.
2. Windows Vista loads.
3. I type in my password. (Any user, doesn't matter.)
4. Loads for about 4 or 5 seconds, screen glitches, bluescreen and a crash dump.

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: a
BCP1: 0000000000000001
BCP2: 000000000000000C
BCP3: 0000000000000001
BCP4: FFFFF800034B8202
OS Version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini030111-03.dmp
C:\Users\(Name)\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-80652-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\(Name)\AppData\Local\Temp\WER8C28.tmp.version.txt

The following errors sometime occur:

1. Ntfs.sys error.
2. IS NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL
3. 0x0000000A

Sometimes all, sometimes just the error without the NOT LESS THAN OR EQUAL, etc.

It may have been caused by a virus, but I highly doubt this. I've done almost everything to eliminate any viruses and purged anything suspicious.

I can boot in Safe Mode perfectly fine, and I'm using Safe Mode to type this right now.

This is really stressing me out. Out of all the years of owning computers, I've never experienced something this serious before.

I want to try to fix this problem without having to Reinstall Windows Vista or use my computer's Recovery Method.

I can NOT perform a System Restore, because Vista decided it was a great idea to delete previous settings when my hard drive was low on space.

My theory is that something in the normal Startup routine isn't suppose to be there, or, for some reason, has become faulty.

I can provide screenshots, video, logs, ANYTHING that will help you, help me, to solve this issue.

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I already read that topic. Unfortunately, I can't comply with the steps outlined except step 5.

Is Vista . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
- the original installed OS on the system?
- an OEM or full retail version?
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)?
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?

-x64 Bit
-Windows Vista Home Premium
-OEM

-2 1/2 years
-2 1/2 years

Any attempt to do almost anything else except browse the internet, or just stare at my computer, results in another bluescreen crash, even in SafeMode.

The latest bluescreen crash while trying to install the software you asked that I read ahead of time, but did not provide because it's not possible, was a bluescreen error mentioning adaport.sys.

This bluescreen error also appears whenever I try to enter the Control Panel now.

I'm not retarded, I know how to read. I didn't provide this information because it's not possible, please don't just paste links.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide, but that's not help.

Unfortunately without the report, what I can do is limited.
I am willing to work with you using my guesses and hope that we hit on something.
I can tell you that this is the definition of BC A
STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

I can also say, that its probably a driver. Which one, I have no idea

If you were able to use it in safe mode we could ascertain additional information.

Hey, good news! I was able to get your program to run after several attempts and bluescreen errors!

The System Health Report, however, encountered an error when it loaded, so it had no report or any options to save it. However, I hope the dump of all my logs, etc, can help!

I'm not sure if you moderated my 2nd reply by approval because you were expecting the logs and wanted to keep it private, or for other reasons like to prevent spam / me not following directions initially, but frankly, I don't care if anyone else sees the report, so I'm going to go ahead and attach it. You can remove the attachment once you've obtained it if you wish.

I'm also doing this from a separate login than the one I usually use to login to windows, and the profile that the error occurred in, so hopefully you didn't need any profile specific information. (Some of the program gathered information for this specific profile.)

The first minidump file you see I believe is the initial BSOD error and the correct date of the first crash that started all these problems as well. (2/28)

Sorry about not being able to get these files earlier!

I really hope this helps!

Heres the story.
I had a good 2 dozen minidumps. Most indicated a driver. By experience, I know that the driver given was not correct, its the scapegoat.
A few reports named a driver that is a know cause of BSODs
Remove it and you should be ok. If the BSODS return, just file the new reports

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs
http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads
Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done:

I'm sorry, I'm having trouble understanding your advice.

"Remove it, and you should be ok."

Which driver is "it" that I should remove?

I also don't have the programs "Daemon Tools" or "Alcohol 120%" - So I can skip that.

Are you instructing that I should remove SPTD.sys?

Also, I downloaded the file from the link, It has the options of "Update" and "Uninstall."

How do I use, and when do I use that file?

I apologize for not understanding.

No need to aplogize, hard to communicate this way.
SPTD is a driver that is part of Daemon, Alchohol and other Virtualization software. I would assume that you have something of that nature, if you have SPTD and you do.
Remove SPTD, if you do not have the software.
You want to use the file to uninstall SPTD
Just follow the insturctions on that site

Before you do anything
go to search
type cmd
in cmd type driverquery. Look for SPTD.

When you think that it has been removed, follow the above procedure again, to be sure that it is gone.

SPTD is not in the list to begin with. Although, the Installer / Uninstaller I downloaded told me I had it. Odd.

I'm going to run the uninstaller a few times then figure out the rest. I'll check back if other issues arise. Thanks for your help so far!

The uninstaller claims it uninstalled it, even though I didn't see it in the DriverQuery list. The program no longer gives me the option to uninstall SPTD.

Even after that, however, the computer still crashes. The latest crash was the IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_NOT_EQUAL error.

What else can I do or check now?

These reports require both Science and Art, my feeling was that it was caused by SPTD, since it was mentioned in several reports. I will check the reports again and give you further suggestions.
In the mean time go here.

Driver Location

C-->Windows-->System 32-->drivers.

If you see SPTD, change .sys to .bup.
I know its there somewhere, or at least remanants, it appears on two report.

Here are the drivers that were involved in one BSOD. It was taken at random.
It clearly says that its there. Its a known BSOD cause. Try your best to find it.

If it was there, it no longer is. Should I provide the latest 2 BSOD crash reports?

Also, provided are screenshots showing that it's not listed. (Or at least, not listed anymore.)

The SPTD installer had the "Uninstall" button available at one point, but did not list SPTD in the Query Report. I did not check to see if it was in the drivers folder the first time. The "Uninstall" button is no longer available, so I believe I've purged the file.

If it was there, it isn't now. And I'm still receiving crashes.

Anything else you could think of to help? Thanks for the help thus far! I appreciate it!

Although many causes are given, it looks like a driver or possibly memory. Lets start with drivers

Driver Verifier Inst
Since the driver that crashed you has not been listed you should run driver verifier
Please run Verifier with these settings:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.
So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).
Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.
Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.
If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Alright, I've done the appropriate steps and crashed the computer a few times.

Normally starting up Windows crashed it a few times.
Booting in Safe Mode and trying to access the Control Panel crashed it.

Where is the report or log from the Verifier suppose to be at? (Your instructions simply say "locate.")
