BSOD after during the clean install of nvidia drivers

    Hello ,

I have a problem during "clean install" of nvidia drivers 268.56 .Ok here it goes...
As i am trying to install new drivers i select custom installation from nvidia installer and clean install .I noticed during the installation that after removing the old drivers and starts to install the new ones ,the system gives me a blue screen with the message " fault page in nonpaged area". Its quite strange because if i remove by my own manual the old nvidia drivers from add/remove programs ,the nvidia installer doesn't have any problem at all to install the new ones .It seems that the problem with nvidia installer is tha it doesnt want to do 2 works in a time unistall-install .
I want your advice .Some people told me that the problem maybe is the ram ,but i checked the ram sticks one bye one repeating all the above procedure .Same problem ...Do you know any free program which i can use to restore missing drivers ,or restore default settings in my windows, maybe this will help .I want your help please.I don't want install again the entire windows because i did it a month ago .

Hello and welcome to the forum.

First did you create a restore point before trying to install the new drivers.

Here is a BSOD tutorial made by Brink that might be very helpful in finding what the problems is.

BSOD - Debugging a BSOD in Vista

Have you tried to uninstall the drivers for NVidia.

I would aslo check to see if there are any yellow flags in the device manager. If there are any flags those need to be updated first.

    Click Start...
    Control Panel...
    Click System and Maintenace...
    Click Device Manager...
    Click view...
    Click show hidden devices..
Then you can update them the drivers from there

Well ,after total format i created restore points to check when the problem starts to exists. So i noticed that before the sp2 the clean install of nvidia is perfeclty working without any problem .After the installation of sp2 by windows updates the clean install of nvidia manager force the system to crashing .I think is a security option tha sp2 changes in my system or something like that .Any suggestion ?

Re: BSOD after during the clean install of nvidia drivers

You can manually uninstall the drivers and do a clean install; you can work around the problem with the nVidia program.

To uninstall the drivers, right-click on your display adapter in Device Manager (devmgmt.msc in the start menu), and select Uninstall.

To install the new ones again, you could manually install them: Driver Install - Device Manager - Windows 7 Forums

Re: BSOD after during the clean install of nvidia drivers

The dumps point to dxgkrnl.sys, the Windows DirectX driver. It makes perfect sense given the situation you described; I just don't know how to diagnose it other than the nVidia program is causing some problem.

    ...Summary of the dumps:

Re: BSOD after during the clean install of nvidia drivers

    Hello

The dgxkrnl.sys can be some of the following.

    1. Malware Infection, if you don't have malware protection I would download and run a full scan using this link, download the free version...

    Malwarebytes

    2. Incorrect Installation of programs...
    3. Outdated software...
    4. Conflicting Software...
    5. Registry issue's...
    6. Hardware issue's...

So as you see sometimes it can be quit a chore to narrow the search but here are a couple of links I would like you to go to and read about the dxgkrnl.

    1. dxgkrnl.sys and usbport.sys hardware interrupts - Sysinternals Forums - Page 1

    2. dxgkrnl.sys Error - What is dxgkrnl.sys Error and How to Remove dxgkrnl.sys Error?

And again please let us know about your progress, thank you

Re: BSOD after during the clean install of nvidia drivers

    Thanks a lot.
I have just updated all the asus motheboard drivers looking forward to find a solution .
I am running now antimalware program ,but i think maybe need a clean registry tool.I dont know if registry corruption is possible to happen after 2 days of format windows but maybe after the installation of sp2 something wrong took place in my system .Let me know if there is a registry free product to use .
Anyway ,i am thinking that if i purchase win 7 maybe the problem will be solved or i'll have to follow the same steps all over again .
