Black Screen on startup.

Ok, first off, I am sorry for posting this question because i bet you get a ton of the exact same error but all the Black screen's seem different. I just need some help. I currently have an inspiron 1545 which runs Vista 32 bit. I notices some things odd happening to my computer so i ran a scan with AVG full, and found many virus's. When one virus came up i chose to remove, it then crashed my computer and took me to the blue screen of death. I loaded my computer up again it seemed fine untill it tried to load up my desktop, it displayed a black screen with my cursor. I clicked Ctrl + Alt + Delete and tried to open "explorer.exe" it then wouldn't let me. I need a fix!
