Ok will do. Am just doing the memtest86+ thing at the mo. Do you know how long this may take (I have x4 sticks of 512MB ram in the pc).

Also, how will I get e results of for you, just manually write it in a reply?

Cheers

Plus I recommend you uninstall secbulk.sys and don't use anykind of a update driver software. Always go to the source your self. This will get rid of one of your problems right away.

Ok will unistall sec bulk.sys ASAP. It's still working through memtest86 and on test #7 with pass 47%. No passes yet but 1 error:

Tst 6
Failing Address 000538f8400 - 1336.9MB
Good 20000000
Bad 2000c300
Err-Bits 0000c300
Count 1

Shall I let it continue?

My Computer

Yes continue, it's recommened that you run 6 to 8 pass's with each one, if it pass's then go right to the checkdisk...

HI normally it takes a few hours to do all of what should be done, but would you give us all the details as you go that way we can get ahead of the game so to speak.

If you are having problems right now with the memtest that can be good or bad that's why we need as many as you can get. I do feel we are getting close and I am going to invite Richc46 to join in and maybe with 2 heads we can get you fixed faster...

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: ad3629ed, The address that the exception occurred at

As you can see ther are a lot of codes to go through and sometimes it takes a lot longer and this is just 1 of yours theres still 6 more to go. When started it goes pretty fast because they all give a little clue here and there...I highlighted a few of the stop code files so you can look if you want to so while your still doing what I have suggested I am still working on my end as far as your problem and thank you for doing them right away...

And just so I'm clear at the moment it's running the mem test with all RAM sticks in the PC.

Should I stop (as obvious there is something not right with the memory) and leave 1 stick in slot 1 and run at least 7 passes on that stick, and the rpeat for each stick?

Sorry to sound a bit dumb!!

My Computer

If you don't run all the sticks then we wont know which one is bad, yes it is important to run the whole test so we can weed out the stick if it turns out to be that....

If You Have Errors:

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.
Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.
If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.
If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.
