Hi. so recently my laptops screen went dark i know the computer is still working fine because i can see it when i shine a flashlight at the screen. I also hooked it up to my tv and it showed it fine on the tv screen and actually made the light on the laptop go on somehow too and even stay on for hours by itself after unplugging it from the tv. But eventually it went dark again. So i tried replacing the screen inverter thinking that was it but that didn't solve the issue either. So if anyone has any idea of what else it can be or any information i would appreciate it. thanks.

Thank you but I don't have a BSOD so why do i need to post that.

This is what i thought which is why i replaced the screen inverter which didn't solve it. Any other solution?

Some laptops have a key with which you can switch off the screen (usually works in conjunction with the Fn key). I once fell into that trap and had the hardest time to figure out what the cause of the problem was - and it was so simple.
