Solved BSOD - 0x0000008E (0x0000005...)

Hi,

My Vista x86 (Home Premium original installation; OEM; 2007) suffers from a BSOD with at this moment the STOP message 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0x824431A7, 0xA882891C, 0x00000000).

First problems I encountered when leaving the VAIO in sleep modus then once and a while getting a BSOD. I used different antispyware programs to clean on viruses,.... After I used superantispyware and rebooted the system got into an immediate BSOD. So now I can only enter in safe mode and no minidumps are made anymore. My last minidumps are from december previous year, that was before the antispyware.

I also have an error log from f-secure online scan reporting EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at Java Runtime Environment. I tried to delete every java installation but some remains I can not get rid of.

Also I could not run a System Health Report because the system could not find the path.

Can someone help me with this?

Regards

Thanks

I refollowed the BSOD posting instruction but with the same result. I can not change anymore the startup and recovery settings in this safe mode. I unluckily changed it into kernel memory dump after the first problems.

There's been a freeze of some functions I'm afraid.

The best that I can do based upon the information that you have supplied is give you a general answer. 8E generally means hardware incompatibility. Have you insatalled any new hardware, recently?

No. The last two years I have used intensely different internet pages at the same time and that gave me frequently warnings because of lack of memory. I think they're might have been a virus or some spyware also but no hardware changes.

I ran Memtest because I can't burn cd's at the moment. I let it run a whole night and it did not give any faults in the memory. Hope that's enough for the memory?

Without those reports, not much I can do. My guess is that its hardware, but thats really all that I can say. Dont like to just guess at these things.

Hi,

I could completely reinstall the notebook with the vaio care rescue function, so everything's working again as it should!
