Hello Wakzilla,
In addition to what Richard has said, I would request you try the suggestions mentioned in this article (even though the article is based on Windows 7, the steps are similar for Windows Vista). You may also try running the the Pre-Boot SystemAssessment (PSA / ePSA) Diagnostics. Run the test and check if it gives any error code. Note down the error code and update me with the same, I would let you know the next course of action.
Please write back with your findings.
Hello Wakzilla,
I would request you to let me know the system model.
Awaiting your response!
Hello Wakzilla,
In order to know the system model, press Win key + R key, type "msinfo32" and press Enter. It would have the system model. You may also refer to this article for more details.
Hope this helps!
Hello Wakzilla,
I would request you to run the Custom Test from the Dell 32-bit Diagnostics on the hard drive and the check the functionality. Also run the Mp-memory Diagnostics to check the functionality of the memory modules.
Please write back with your findings.
