POST failure

Hi,

Recently my systems failed to boot and the repair utility started. It repaired the system and the pc booted into Windows. This has not happened before and I was wondering if there is a logfile somewhere that could tell me what the problem was, and the repair made?

Thanks

System is a component of windows logs
administrative is a component of custom views
Click on the little arrow next to windows logs and custom views

Now I have clicked the right view, I can see system and administrative.

In system I see some errors, they relate to lxdpCATSCustConnectService.

Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager

Description:
The lxdpCATSCustConnectService service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Another error:

Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager

Description:
The lxdpCATSCustConnectService service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

The same errors appear in administrative events

It looks like they relate to my printer, which has empty cartridges at the moment, is connected, but not being used. The printer has been in this state for some time and has never caused a failed POST!

The only other method that I can think of is to supply us with this information. Some of the information that you will give refers to BSODS, but there is a lot of information given that may help here. Lets give it a shot. If I cannot find anything, it will remain a mystery. It happens to everyone. Sometimes the computer was not shut down correctly.

I thought that I gave you the information - what more is there to give?

There was no BSOD!

Thanks
