About a month ago, I started experiencing a lot of BSOD's. It started when I updated my graphics card to be able to play Age of Conan. The game started to crash frequently and BSOD's began to pop up. I thought it was just the game so I deleted it but, unfortunately, all my games had occasional BSOD's. However lately, my computer started to crash much more frequently and, after any crash, my computer would become unable to restart. I have to wait about 30 mins before restarting my pc to avoid getting errors. My graphics card is: NVIDIA geforce 8800GT.
Altough I'm pretty sure it's my graphics card/driver that is causing the troubles, because the crashes -not the ones during rebooting- occur when there are graphics involved but, I could be wrong!
The strange thing is, I always get another BSOD. The code varies from 0x0000008E, 0x000000FE, to -I don't remember the code- problems with USB drivers. I've tried reinstalling the NVIDIA display driver but no luck. Now I do think I might be doing something wrong at the whole Reinstalling process. These are the steps I take:
1. go to control panel
2. uninstall the NVIDIA display driver using the add/remove program button
(I don't uninstall every driver).
3. restart in safe mode.
4. use driver sweeper to get rid of all the remains of the driver.
5. restart the pc.
6. install the latest drivers.
If anyone knows what I did wrong, or what else could be the cause of my problem, please give me some advice
