| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: Do you prefer gaming on console or PC? Being old school, I have a little trouble setting up the console controllers to my liking, some of the games come with preset keys so you either play how they decide is best or you don't... I usually don't ![]() Racing sims are better on consoles though, at least, I think so because I either don't have or want to spend money on a PC steering wheel or they never work like they are supposed to. I only play shooters and they seem to be better on pc, even though, as of late we are only getting poor console ports when it comes to good tactical and or close to real shooters... I did enjoy FEAR 2 a lot though but it is one of the few console ports that are really optimize for the pc. +1 on the picture thing |

| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Re: Do you prefer gaming on console or PC? I prefer the PC because modding games can be accomplished with the PC. Console you are kind of stuck with what you have. However as a poster commented, console is less expensive and I would have to say the 3D is quite good on the Xbox and Sony Playstation 3. It is unfortunate that a lot of developers are moving toward console games because they sell like hot cakes on Sunday morning. They have trade in value at some gaming stores. Some games just lean towards being a console game. You know, Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedge Hog, etc. Other games such as Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific need to be PC so the game can be modded. Trust me, it is modded quite a bit to the point it is an entirely different game than stock. I have played it continuously for over 2 years. Silent Hunter 3 has been played by thousand since release in 2005 because of the modibility of the game files. But hey, I have my PC, Wii and Playstation II....I get to mess with all of them. |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 : Seven Ultimate x64 | Re: Do you prefer gaming on console or PC? ![]() With certain PC games I find I spend more time in the console and config files and looking for mods than I do playing them With the console, you just play the game as they were meant to be played. You have no choice. Which can sometimes also be a bad thing Another advantage to consoles is that the games rarely crash. Compared to PC's anyway ![]() Either way, it's good to have the choice |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Do you prefer gaming on console or PC? Five years ago I would have said PC. Now with a lot of console games being nearly identical to their PC counterparts and the online services the consoles offer it's much easier and just as much fun (if not more) than PC. Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy PC games, but sometimes it's the hassle. I know my console isn't going to have any problems running a game. With my computer it's a different story even though I have a pretty damn good rig, you know? My only gripe about console gaming compared to PC gaming would have to be the controls. The Dualshock and the 360 controller are pretty damn good examples of how controllers should be made IMO but nothing quite feels as nice as a mouse/keyboard combo. |

| Microsoft Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Do you prefer gaming on console or PC? Right now I am gaming on Xbox 360. My second one at that! But I am kicking around the idea of a new PC build with tax return money.... but not sure yet. Even if I do I doubt I would switch over to hardcore PC gamer again. Like others have stated before, most games on PC I can have on 360, and with LIVE it is nice. Now we consolers do miss out on a few good ones but not many. |
