| Ultimate SP1 x64 & x86 | Re: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken Yep, but at the step where you uninstall AV/Firewall, did you uninstall the gadgets and reinstall them, because if something was wrongly registered with your gadgets, nothing can be changed unless you reinstall all the gadgets and therefore you have to uninstall them first. |

Windows Sidebar - Gadget Not Displayed Correctly I have heard that if it is a XML problem, then sometimes resetting IE7 can fix the problem as well. It could be worth a try. Internet Explorer - Reset Other than that, I can only suggest a System Restore with a restore point dated before the problem. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| VIsta | Re: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken Hi there, I realise that this thread is quite old, but it has been most helpful for me. I had the same problem with the sidebar and mixing a bit of everything that you guys have said I managed to solve the problem. I don't know if anyone is still looking for a solution, so I'm going to put here what I did and in which order, I'm saying this because I had tried some of the things separately and it didn't work. So... - First of all, if you have the Sidebar running, close it and exit the program. 1. type cmd in the Start menu's white (Start Search) line and right click cmd (at top) and click Run as administrator. 2. In the command prompt, type regsvr32 msxml3.dll and press Enter 3. Click OK 4. In the command prompt, type regsvr32 scrrun.dll and press Enter. 5. Click OK 6. In the command prompt, type regsvr32 jscript.dll and press Enter. 7. Click OK 8. In the command prompt, type regsvr32 msxml4.dll and press Enter 9. Click OK 10. In the command prompt, type regsvr32 msxml6.dll and press Enter 11. Click OK 12. Reset Internet Explorer to its original settings. 13. If you are using aero, deactivate it. 14. Reboot your computer 15. Reactivate aero. Your sidebar should be working fine now. Thanks to all the people that gave input to sove this problem! |

| vista home premium | Re: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken Hello, I am having the same problem with Gadgets display. I tried going through the .dll fixes as you described, but when I get to the regsvr32 jscript.dll, I get a message saying: "The module jscript.dll failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependrnt .dll files. Invalid access to memory location." Any suggestions would be appreciated. Wedge3d Greenie, It looks like you tried this tutorial before, but did you register the DLLs in this order? | Windows 7 x64 | Re: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken Another cause of this problem can be a custom text size (DPI). I combed through many, many possible causes before I found the culprit. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken sidney1st, my man! Just wanted to say thank you so so so much mate. Your method of renaming the .ini extension for the sidebar config worked! I had been trying and trying to sort out the problem of the sidebar opening 10's of instances of the same gadget, and then freezing the computer when deleting one. Thanks again friend, you really are a god send |
