Eventvwr.msc doesn't open

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Hello!

I have a problem with my DELL XPS M1530 runing Windows Vista Home Premium
SP1.

Main problem:

This pops up when i try to open Control Panel>>Administrative tools>>event
viewer:

"MMC can't open the file C:\Windows\System32\eventvwr.msc

This may be because the file does not exist, it is not an MMC console, or
was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not
have sufficient access rights to the file."

I have tried everything that I know about to solve this problem. I have
googled the problem, and came up to the solution of running "regsvr32
msxml3.dll". When i run regsvr32 msxml3.dll(on some forums i have read it
should be the solution) I get another new error code:

"Msxml3.dll was loaded but the call to Dll Register Server failed with error
code 0X80070005.

Search the internet with error code matching, for more information on this
issue."

When i typed "regsvr32 msxml3.dll" in command prompt(running comand prompt
as administrator) and pressed enter i get the message
"DllRegisterServer in msxml3.dll was succesfull"
But no fix to the problem neither.

I even runned command promp and typed "sc query eventlog"(eventlog is the
service name of eventviewer) and there seemed to be no problem. But no way to
open it. I then rebooted my computer, but it didn't even open then.
Later i found out there is still one way to see the event log, but not open
the file. I open Computer Management by right-clicking the Computer icon on
the start menu and select Manage. There i do find event viewer.
But the other way to open it seems to not work.

I really need help,

1.Can you open eventvwr.msc in safe mode?
2.Check in safe mode it will work

paste to notepad:

Wmic /output:"c:\Application.htm" ntevent where "logfile="Application" and type="Error"" get Logfile, Message, SourceName, EventCode,Type, TimeGenerated /format: htable

This almost sounds like the file C:\Windows\system32\eventvwr32.msc doesn't even Exist!
Please confirm that the module "eventvwr32.msc" is actually IN that directory as it should be.

Yes it does exists, as this picture shows, and as I already said, it is possible to view the events in Control Panel>>Administrative tools>>[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Computer Management [/FONT]. Therefor, I cannot find out why this should happen, and why that error box should pop up, when i try to open eventvwr.msc from its file location, or any of the links to it!

Do you have file C:\Windows\System32\eventvwr.exe either?
Check permissions both eventvwr.msc and eventvwr.exe - the Administrators,Users and SYSTEM should have permision: read and read & execute but Trusted Instaler should have full control.Have you tried what I told in post 4?

Ok, i pasted that in notepad, saved file as LOG.BAT, and then i run C:\Users\User_Name\Documents\LOG.BAT, and then suddenly command prompt opens fast, and closes as fast as it opens. I managed to make a print screen in the little time it was open and i got this:(User name has been changed out with "User name" for privacy reasons):

I think a registry cleaner might have done it, but what im searching for is any possibility of resolving the problem:confused:

Try to use http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76256-system-restore-undo.html
if after back to previous checkpoint you'll still this trouble ->you surly have trouble with permissions

Yes i did a system restore to before i installed this register cleaner. But it didn't help. So i wrote a mail to the register cleaner support, but they didnt answer for a long time. Then i decided i would restore it again to a point longer before the last sytem resotre i did, but since system restore has only backup for 10 days, and this 10 days had already past, i couldn't make the system restore to a point even longer back in time :(

Did the registry cleaner make a backup of the registry when you first used it.

Yes, and i did undo evrything the registry cleaner did(by using rescue center), and after that, since i moticed this didn't help, I did system Restore as last resource, but no help!

Seems the registry editor might have changed some data in the registry that has to do with eventvwr.msc. What i don't understand is how can i see event viewer in Control Panel>>Administrative tools>>Manage. If there was any fault in the event viewer program i shouldn't be able to see it neither in Manage!

Maybe if you guys know where the eventviewer is located in the register, i can check in regedit what is there, and what is not

Just double click on all of them and they will import into your registry. added 2 more, make sure you either restart or logoff and log back on.
