Visual Performance

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate, I recently Set my options in the Performance Options to Adjust for best performance, but I must say, that I have not noticed anything different? Should I leave it like it is?, or, set it back again?
Thanks
Rip

Re: Visual Performance

If you don't see a difference, then put it back to "let windows choose what's best for my computer."

Re: Visual Performance

Pretty much all that does it change visual settings to use the least amount of ram. So you probably had a desktop that looked like Win2000 or 98. That is supposed to give the 'Best performance' as by theory should use less resources (and it usually does) Other than that it doesnt change any other 'performance' settings. Hope this helps.

Re: Visual Performance

You might, you might not. But you dont see a notable difference then just change it back. I only have enough enabled to keep the Aero feature. Everything else is turned off. By having the most basic visual settings you save ~14-20MB of ram.

Re: Visual Performance

Hi Rip,
If I were you, I'll let the sytem choose what's best for your computer because of 4GB memory you got. IMHO we must enjoy the full functions of Vista.

Hi, well with the 4GB Memory, and only 48GB Disk Space out of 100GB, it is running slow?Like opening up Photoshop CS4, and After Effects CS4, and sometimes opening up the computer seems slow? I thought that reducing some resources may help?

Sorry mate, I thought you were just playing around to increase the performance, I googled and found many people having PS CS4 slowness. You might find some useful information over there. Good luck.
