Visual Performance

You posted in this thread saying your machine was slow. That might simply be because you have a lot of processes running in the background. But changing the display settings will save some memory. Like I said before usually around 14 - 20 MB.

I really do not have a lot of processors running.I sent some pics, maybe you can tell me wich ones I do not need?.Thanks

Whats the percentage of ram used at idle, and how many processes do you have running at idle?

you can type msconfig and see what processes you are initially starting

mdnsresponder is part of apples bonjour service. If you run itunes I think it automatically installs on your computer. This is not a necessary service.

The only other question I'd ask is are you running more than one malware program as a service? If so, this could give you a performance hit. Otherwise, your processes look pretty streamlined.

Yeah I am not sure about the bonjour, i have no ipod,or iphone, i just download podcasts,so how do i disable this feature?.I only use microsoft security essentials, and bitdefender security,that is all.Thanks

to disable bonjour type services.msc in search and find bon jour right click and disable

Bonjour and quicktime install when you install iTunes.

They can be disabled under services safely as everything will still function with out it.

Start > type services and hit enter > look for anything associated with iTunes.

To change whether it starts up automatically or not, double click on the service you want stopped, ie. Bonjour. Change the start up type to 'Manual' then hit 'Stop' see picture.

iTunes will still function perfectly, as I had all iTunes default auto services set to 'Manual' never a problem.

Ok, I disabled it, itunes said that bonjour is disabled.but itunes still loaded up ok. thanks for that ken.

if you dont share WMP over your network, you can also dis able wmpnetwk.exe. it is only used to share wmp media and is constantly looking for devices, etc
