recovering vista from recovery partition

Hi guys... i had company installed vista basic.. and a recovery partition of it..


now once i formatted vista and installed windows 7.

for few problems i reverted back to vista. but now tht recovery image is not identified anymore.. is it like now its of no use??

can i do system image restore from recovery partition?

i tried browsing and locating.. but no hope.. i will be glad if anyone knows or can tell me a way...:(:(:(

If you had formatted the computer. this means that the recovery partition had been formatted.. no :( u would be able to get that recovery partition!!

Did you try marking it active and see if the recovery starts up?

( Assuming it is still there - did you format the entire drive, or just the Vista partition? )

i had vista in C: and a RECOVERY partition.

i formatted C: not the recovery partition.

when i installed vista back from company cd i was not able to recover from the RECOVERY partition.

Try hitting ctrl and F-11 during boot up. Right when you turn the laptop on during the dell screen. > to get the factory restore option
Dell website says its the same factory restore and recovery partition.. it will just be different if you have created any recovery partition after!!
Try that.. or next option is to install the windows vista and reinstall all the drivers but make sure that you have the windows key!!

there should be the windows key somewhere on the pc, dvd box.. else you won't be able to reactivate the windows..
If the ctrl+f11 is not working then i reakon you need to go through the reinstallation of the windows and then the drivers..its easy to get the drivers for this laptop check on the dell website.. but make sure you get the Windows key first.. ok

well the main problem is when i install vista all appears big.. i mean not even display drivers are there i think.. on top.. i m not able to connect internet.. god knows its because of drivers or something else.. but i tried installing ethernet drivers too..still i was not able to connect to network..

on top.. the problem is... all this is really a big pain for me..

so i thought if i can recover the partition back..

i dont know y u r asking for keys.. i mean when i installed it before.. though without drivers and all.. still my system properties showed windows is activated.. genuine!!

i dont know but somehow i feel i wish i can recover from tht partition...

on top.. when i open the recovery partition i cant see any files.. just the space is filled with memory.. i think its protected so.. but............i am helpless.. cant things become easy??

i m ready for reverting back installing vista.. but the thing is it should work.. i mean recovery should be succesful. last time whn i isntalled back vista.. i dint get anything.. so again isntalled windows 7 so tht i can connect to net and work around with other things..

in a way i like windows 7 lol.. i had to install least amount of drivers for it...

by the way.. this thing i can just stop it..if u can know somewhere a driver for my printer... HP 1210 inkjet all in one...

i dont want drivers for the OS brother.. i want for my printer....i know u must be thinking i m gone case.. mad.. lol for a printer driver i m messing around hell lot ...

but.. anything in any case... i want the drivers for my printer for any OS.. like vista or windows 7...

i was thinking of getting back to xp also.. but lol... as the drivers for my printer is just for xp......but as windows 7 i installed its not allowing to downgrade.. on top.. i formatted everything and started xp installation.. but all time i dont know a blue screen of dead comes.. so i lost hope in tht...


i know i m mad.. but i just want a way for my printer.... i neeed it a lot.. and m not in a position to get a new printer just for driver issue.. lol:party::party:
