Okay...iWould really appreciate anyone who could help me out with this. iHad trouble with Vista prior to this, which led me into having my computer rebooted only with 10.0 GB of free space in Local Disc (C:) So now I'm stuck with a pretty much ultimate downgraded computer. iNeed to know what files iCould delete throughout the computer or able to move to free up space?!

Please help me!!!

Hallo WrittenCocaine, If your computer is up to date & both Service Packs are succesfully installed from an elevated command prompt http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/181765-elevated-command-prompt.html
You can type; compcln.exe then press enter (you may have to press Y to confirm)

This should free up about 1gb it cleans out leftovers & uninstaller from Service Packs.

If you dont use Hibernate also from an elevated command prompt type; powercfg -h off this will also free up a lot of space

Use disk clean up to delete your old restore points, this will leave you with the most recent one http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76073-disk-cleanup.html

And i would use Ccleaner but please if you are not familar with the mechanics of the Registry then I would leave the Registry cleaner option well alone
CCleaner - Download

There is also the option of uninstalling any software you dont use, i hope this is of some help

Could you post a picture of Disk Management so that we get a better idea of your situation.

OK, that's not really very telling because it does not show the size of D. A Disk Management picture (as suggested) would have been better. But how come you ended up with such a small C partition. For a healthy Vista you need at least 50GB. What is the size of your total hard drive?

do the same thing. but change the way you view(on the page your taking the picture of) to either tiles or details. you cant see the size of your D:

start > computer > views tab > change to tiles or details..

I don't think that will help because D is hidden - would have to unhide it first. But we'll see.

here is a good tutorial for the partition tool in vista. How to Partition in Windows Vista (Extend and Shrink)?
but as long as you don't save anything that isn't necessary to your C: it should be fine.

good luck

OK I was wrong there you need more space!! here is a better tutorial. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial133.html
Try it again. I would go for at least 15 more GB. If it don't work, take a screenshot or write down the excact error message.

It will shrink in MB..If you want 10gb = 10240mb 15gb = 15360mb 20gb = 2048mb

good luck

This looks like there was a mistake made during the installation and D should have been C and vice versa. It also looks like D is not a recovery partition. A recovery partition usually contains less than 10GB of data. What do you actually have on D?
With Disk Management it is going to be a little iffy to rearrange things, but it can be done. But first we need to understand what's on D.
So open D and take a screenshot and post that here. Also, do you have an external disk and how much free space is on that. Once we have that data, we'll make the next step.
