Solved .dll errors, software issues

Greetings.

For a month, I'm trying to solve a problem on my pc, but I don't know what is causing this, never encountered anything like this.
I will tell my specs, explain the problem, show the steps I have taken trying to solve the problem. Hopefully someone can solve this problem without reinstalling windows.

Specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit.
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT
DirectX 9.0c, though I had DirectX 10.2 installed but it disappeared.
Latest windows update installed.

Issues:

The following problems occur:

1# When booting, I get a run.dll error about 'nvcpl.dll'. Forgot the text, but it was something with unable to reinitialize. Nvcpl.dll is related with the Nvidia driver.

I can play most of my games though.

2# Nvidia control panel doesn't start when I want to use it. It's still in the User Control Panel, but it doesn't work.

3# Missing DirectX files. When I want to play a game, I get many errors like: 'Cannot find d3dx9_24.dll...' Those files are in the %Windows%/System/ directory. I don't mess around with the Windows folder.

4# Software stopped working. Most of the software I use(Windows Media Player Classic, Nvidia control panel as I mentioned, other scanners etc.) stops working without me having done anything.
Sometime, the program is removed from the list with programs and software, but the program is still on my pc and functions. And the other time, the program is in the list with programs and software, but it doesn't work.

5# My pc thinks the internal hard drive is external. The icon 'Remove Hardware Safely' is showing that my hard drive 'C:\' is external. That doesn't make any sense. I don't even want to know what will happen if I 'remove this hardware safely'.

6# Random booting problem. When I reboot, sometimes, Windows ask me if I want to run in safemode etc. Like it didn't shutdown correctly. That is not supposed to happen.

Steps I have taken trying to solve this:

*Full scan with AVG Free, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, Malware Bytes Anti-Malware, Registry Mechanic, Combofix(followed by their instructions, bleepingcomputer.com). And some other scanners.
All of the above did not help.

*Reinstalled Nvidia driver software and DirectX 9.0c.
My pc is fine for...12 hours, then the problems appear again.

*Installed all the windows updates.
Did not help.

*Manually downloaded some of the .dll files.
Problems will appear again in about 12 hours.

*I did not removed/uninstall any software that could be causing this.

Conclusion:

I have no idea what is causing this and I'm hoping someone can help me.
Reinstalling windows is the last thing I want to do, I have to make huge backups. If you have a flat tire, will you buy a new car? This could be solved I believe. Thanks in advance.

Your reply kind of upsets me.

I already tried manually installing those dll files from that site. It didn't help. I said that in my first post.

There is something(malware/spyware etc.) that is removing/disrupting those files. That's the problem and that has to be solved.

Hopefully someone can help me with this. I use this pc for school and work, it's important that I can use my pc without any problems.

Apologies, but these issues are getting on my nerves.

Hello Reffy2,
Download this free app.

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (Setup) download from Guru3D.com

Boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper, clean out all your NVidia files.
Reboot and load the latest drivers for your video card.

Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc/scannow press enter and let it scan, if errors are found you will need to run another scan until clean.
This will make sure that your system files are in good order.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

I've removed the nvidia drivers/software. It was very stubborn but I managed to remove and reinstall it.

Scanned in safemode with sfc/scannow. He found a few problems. Reboot, scanned again, all was clear.

Reinstalled DirectX 9.0c to.

So far, so good. But I've seen that before.

For now, the thing is, why does my pc shows the 'remove hardware safely' button and why does he think my internal harddrive is external?

EDIT: .dll errors appeared again...

I have no idea what chipset drivers I should instal. My hard drive has a long name, but SCSI is in it: "ST332082 0AS SCSI Disk Device"

Things I find on google is that the drivers of the SCSI/RAID Host Controller are not working. In devicemanager, I see a yellow triangle with the..."!" mark, don't know how to say that in English.

I tried to reinstall, remove+reinstall it, but I get the message that it couldn't be done(automatically).

How do I fix this? I couldn't find the driver on the link you gave me or on google.

AMD Athlon® 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, well, that's what my processor is called. Is that what you asked? I'm dutch and windows vista is also in dutch, I'm not familiar with the English computer terms.

What we meant was who made your computer. Is it a laptop, or a desktop? Is it made by Dell, Acer, Toshiba, Sony; it should say on the front? What model number is displayed?

Thanks!

Ah, thought so. It is a desktop, made by Packard Bell(a.k.a. Packard Hell).

I went to their website, packardbell.com, but I don't think they give support for old models.

Do you know any model numbers? Even if you do not know anything about the numbers, we may be able to understand them.

Scanned with "BiosAgentPlus"
Now I just need to find the drivers for...?

Packard Bell is not supporting this model anymore, at least, I couldn't find it on their website.

When I search for 'MCP61', I get a lot of links about Nvidia, but Nvidia did not make my motherboard, or anything other then my 3d-card.

I believe I have to update my bios, but I don't know where and how to look.

My Computer

Hello,

Sorry for our late reply. I do not think the problem lies with the BIOS. How did the hard disk diagnostics go?

If HP are not supporting this model any more, then your only alternative is to look for support from third party driver and software sites. If this was a popular model, then there will be sites out there that have these drivers, they may be hard to find, and they may not be in your first language, but, there will be a site somewhere that has what you are looking for.

You need to install all the proper drivers, and check the HDD.

As for the BIOS, i totally agree with niemiro, there may be updates for the Bios, but you should only update the Bios if you are experiencing problems, and as your machine has run for years on the current Bios, i think you can say, there are no problems with it.

Bottom line is, you need to find all the drivers for your HP machine, sound driver, video driver, and chipset drivers and check the HDD, once all the proper drivers are installed and the HDD is checked, we will have a better idea of what is going on.

HP = Hewlett Packard
Hewlett Packard is not Packard Bell. Anyway, I couldn't find drivers for my pc, yet.

Since my HD is a SCSI, or atleast, those letters are in it, I tried the following scanners:

Sea tools Enterprise and SD_Diag2.7.

Sea Tools doesn't install because CONFIG.NT was missing. I made a textfile with a few commands in it, so config.nt is back. But now Sea tools wants another file that is missing, AUTOEXEC.NT. Where do I get that?
This program needs the same files that I want it to scan, if I put it that way.

SD_Diag gives an error: 'Can't init.' Then it shuts down. It also said that another .dll file was missing, but I downloaded it from dll-files.com.

There are other SCSI programs about floppy and/or discdrives. But I want to scan my harddrive.
Any advice on how to scan my HD would be great.

Anyway, thx again for the reply, but where do I start searching for drivers? What do I enter in google? Should I search somewhere else?
