I also suggest you do the same for your monitor driver while you're at it. If that doesn't do the trick, post back (possibly with a screenshot showing the line) and we'll check out some other options. Even if up-to-date, you may want to consider updating them anyway just to rule out that the current version is corrupt enough to cause this problem but not so bad that it is recognized as a problem. I suggest you get them from the manufacturer of the device or of the computer if it came with the computer rather than Windows Update. If you've used Windows Update to do it and still have the problem, try again using versions from the manufacturer web sites.
In the meantime, go to Control Panel / Personalize and try some other display settings, themes, and color/appearance settings to see if the line appears regardless of the setting.
If it just started, you may also consider a System Restore to BEFORE the problem started - that often solves this type of thing.
