Hello

Do you have any disks at all like the factory restore disks or full version from a store bought. Without having you try certain things and rule out others there is no super quick fix as we do not have your system in front of us to fix. We will figure it out but it does take a little time. Besides what you have already told us do you know of anything else you mgiht have missed that will help a little more like what were you doing when the first problem started, when did it first start, what have you tried so far as to try and fix this problem any and all pieces of information will help us more in finding the problem and then correcting it.

Thank You

Tom

when the first problem started? So i was on google chrome, i was looking at a picture then when i clicked on a picture., something popped up saying i got a virus, it told me to install internet protection or something like that. So, i installed it, then i tryed to remove the trojan virus and everything but it said i have to activate it, so i didnt do that. then i used avg and malware i scanned ma whole computer and when it was in the middle of being done i cancelled it. So then there was still a virus. Soo i restarted my computer. when it was in middle of starting, i took my batter and charger out, so my toshiba shut down. then i opened it. I clicked Launch Repair Startup(Recommended) Then it was repairing. i cancelled it. and a list of things came up. then i clicked toshiba startup wizard or something like that. then ummm..... it was in the middle of restarting my whole computer. Then i accidently cancelled it. then i shut ma toshiba down... then i turned it on and this happened!!!!!!!

when did it first start? Friday/8/2010

what have you tried so far as to try and fix this problem? F2 and F12

Hello now we have something to go on and NEVER!!! download these kind of things it is a big scam all the want is your money and a lot of times they install a virus themselves. If this ever happens again just close it don't get scared this even happens to me and others I know, just close them and keep on doing what your doing. Let us figure this out and well get back to you soon...

May I suggest that you do not close it in the normal fashion that is part of the scam. Dont click on anything. Bring up task manager and close that way. Go to applications and close it down frin task manager.
If you close in the normal fashion there is a good chance that the virus will be activated.
Bottom line, do not click on the pop up.

My Computer

well like i said i cant do anythin
the only thing i can do is F2 and F12
but when i just open my computer it says that i can press F2 for setup and F12 for Boot device setup
then after 5-10 seconds that closes and the black screen with white repeating words pop up
thats all that happens

My Computer

Access the bios and choose to boot from the CDROM drive first.
Do a recovery from the disk that came with the computer.
You have been hit by a false positive scam that has already been mentioned.
This time when the computer is restoring DO NOT hit cancel half way through.

Hello,

I am in agrrement with Roy that u should access BIOS and set CD/DVD as your first boot device. you could run the repair cd (Came with system) and try repair then system restore if that fails, then go for original factory setting.

you have a damaged update install probably from shutting down, or running out of power during the install or even a bad download, run the factory and you will restore your machine to its original state, you will lose all files and setting though.

Can you give a little bit more information about your laptop/desktop?

Thanks
