Windows Vista Home Premium HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

I am in agrrement with Roy that u should access BIOS and set CD/DVD as your first boot device. you could run the repair cd (Came with system) and try repair then system restore if that fails, then go for original factory setting.

you have a damaged update install probably from shutting down, or running out of power during the install or even a bad download, run the factory and you will restore your machine to its original state, you will lose all files and setting though.

Can you give a little bit more information about your laptop/desktop?

Thanks

you said: you will lose all files and setting though.
Thats what i was trying to do

Yes if you go for original factory setting condition, you will loose all files and setting. but once a point it gives you permission to take backup of all your data files and setting.

Access the bios and choose to boot from the CDROM drive first.
Do a recovery from the disk that came with the computer.
You have been hit by a false positive scam that has already been mentioned.
This time when the computer is restoring DO NOT hit cancel half way through.
when i access the CDROM boot thing the same thing haappens and words keep repeating.
idont have a recovery cd!!!
:)
LOL It still dont work

Hello Amitabh,

you once talk to Toshiba Help and Support division and ask to send you a recovery disk of your laptop. They can send it on a minimal charges. and they too can support you asking you how to recover your laptop to the original factory condition.

If your laptop is still in warranty period they send the recovery disk at zero cost. try this.

Thanks. post your result.

Hello

I do agree and think the very best thing would be to reformat your hard drive and just do a clean sweep, We all know it takes a while to do a factory restore but when it's done your computer should be back up and running like a new one and yes it is a little time consuming to re-install all of your other software and documents and files, and music etc. But I think in the end when your system is running like new and a lot faster then it does now you will be happier.

If you don't know much about computer it is better to take service centre to reformat and reinstall your Windows.

I wish you good luck.

Hello

I think if you are just going to reformat and reinstall the software there is no need to take it to a store or shop and spend your money for something you can do right there at home. It's very easy and we can show you how.

Im not sure if this will help you, and keepin mind im a beginner at this myself, but i kinda had the same problem u r haveing, when it says start up repair (recomended) at first i tried that and it was never ending, i prolly shouldnt have stoped it but i did, rebooted and when it said that again i started up normally, and by luck or something it worked, like i said i am a beginner, this is not expert advise by no means. just telling u what worked for me
:)
u got lucky there

Another good spot there Jason, your'e getting good at this.

U got lucky, u certainly did! Had not Jason been alert & realised it had similarities to his previous problem, then the cause & remedy may not have been picked up quite so quickly.
Hope you have managed to resolve your problems.
Thank you.

Had the same problem, if you have the recovery and app discs then insert disc 1 and when the system boots, hit the f12 and boot the system from drive D: should state the disc in the drive is the recovery disc, hit enter, and install from the discs. This is the third time in two days that I had to do this, but the computer is old and fails ofte, but first time that I was locked out of everything and had to do it this way.
