Windows Vista freezes

Hi.

It's really strange. If I login as Administrator all seems to work fine. But if I login with my personal user it loads the desktop and then it looks like following picture:

Unbenannt.jpg

I activated the Administrator account like you described and installed the 8.6 driver.
Don't understand why it's working under the Administrator account. I tried to create a new user account but there is the same thing as for my personal user.

Only Administrator seems to work fine...

Hi Vito,

i found out that i can use my graphics card and 4gb ram when i use the vista standard driver for my graphics card. if i install the driver from ati the picture gets grey lines and the picture freezes.

This quote from an earlier post of yours seems to answer your question about graphics. AMD/ATI really need to get their act together and produce a decent driver that works correctly. It might be time to 'bite the bullet' and change your graphics card for an NVidia model (and I am not saying that because I use NVidia). A quick scan of the relevant websites reveals that AMD/ATI have far more issues than NVidia, also NVidia seem to update their driver more frequently.

Now that's a load of bulloney. It recently came out in the ongoing Vista Capable lawsuit, that is going on right now in the United States, the a whopping 30 percent of the BSOD's on Windows Vista are due to Nvidia's drivers.

Up until recently, Nvidia didn't even bother putting out a new WHQL driver, it wasn't until earlier this month they put a new one, before that the last WHQL driver for Vista dated back to December 2007. You wanna say agin, that ATI has far more issues, when you've never seen the Official Nvidia forums, where people are posting all the time about trouble with Nvidia's drivers.

Last year, when I was using Nvidia, I reported a bug in their drivers where one would get a blackscreen on loading Neverwinter Nights 1, at the main menu. It took those jokers at Nvidia, over 4 friggin months to fix that bug. Translation, Nvidia takes forever to fix bugs.

Another thing, I had so many driver issues with Nvidia, it wasn't even funny. I bailed out on Nvidia, bought me a 975XBX2 motherboard, and 3870X2 videocard months ago, and haven't had trouble since.

Now do you wanna tell me how Nvidia is better, give me a break!!!!
