21.5" or 24" Full HD Wide LCD BenQ

HI all
I intend to buy one of these monitors.

Foxcomp Perth :: Buy 24" inch BenQ G2400WD LCD, 4000:1, 2ms, D-Sub, Dvi, HDMI, HDCP, 1900x1200, Black : Foxcomp Technology Perth Western Australia

BenQ Global - Computing

Foxcomp Perth :: Buy 21.5" inch BenQ E2200HD Full HD Wide LCD - 2ms, Glossy Black, 1920x1080, 10, 000:1, HDMI : Foxcomp Technology Perth Western Australia

Both have resolution 1920x1080 and are full HD 16:9. I want to be able play games and watch movies and videos on a full screen. Are those ones good for gaming and what would games look like on it. Are all new games capable of supporting 16:9 resolution or am I better of with monitor that has resolution 1920x1200. (16:10)

Any comments and suggestion are welcome

Edit
I am not hard core gamer but I do like FPS....
Would I notice much difference in playing game on a monitor with 16:9 1920X1080 or 16:10 1920x1200

I use an Acer 24", at 1440 x 900 (16:10) looks great, in any case most top quality games give you various resolution options to select what is best for you or the game.

Thank you for your input. I have completely forgot that you can set your own resolution to play games.

Go with your budget. I have a benq 22" widescreen and it works great.
How close are you going to be to it is also another factor, if you sit close to it then go for the smaller screen. If you have to move your head to see different parts of the screen when watching a film then the monitor is to big.

I will be sitting about 3-4 from when watching movie and maybe 2 foot when playing FPS games.
I must admit you have a point there
So it is much better for me to go and actually see difference between 22" (21.5) and 24

Hello acdcfan!

Roy makes a good point, though as I've been using a 47" as a monitor for some time;

I have small house and not enough money to turn one of the rooms into computer room.
Got a kid on a way, so I need to buy few thing for myself before I start spending money on a pram, baby cot, clothes nappies.

But I will go out and look at the difference between the 2

i would go with sceptre, and 24". i have their x22wg gamer. i have it set at 1680 x 1050 without any problems. nice style, good quality, was very good price when i bought it. i set back around 3' from the screen. rather i am checking email, surfing, or playing a game the the distance and screen size works pretty well for me.

Re: 21.5" or 24" Full HD Wide LCD BenQ

Well
I have seen the difference between 22" and 24" and decided to go for 24. Only thing is not sure which one to go for E2400HD Full HD 1920x1080 or G2400WD 1920 x 1200. This is only dilemma right now. Got only couple of hours to decide,

Well
you guy are going to be proud of me, I have purchased Ben Q G2400WD 1920x1200
