21.5" or 24" Full HD Wide LCD BenQ

Hi MrNeeds, A quick internet search suggests you are wrong about the Dell being "a fraction of the price" (Dell $689 and Benq $699)and that your implied suggestion that the Benq is inferior to the Dell is not accurate. Both monitors are good average Desktop monitors with good and bad points. The Dell "DVI input shows noticeable lag. It's not horrible for desktop work, but for gaming it is simply too much. If you game at all on this monitor, use the HDMI input with some type of adapter, either HDMI-DVI cable or a DVI-HDMI adapter, or if your vcard has HDMI output."

BenQ has a good reputation for affordable quality monitors.

The biggest difference is in after sales service. Benq offers point of sales after service. Dell has a centralized call service system with limited access to technical help and advice. This difference would clinch it for me. Repairs for Benq are quicker, easier to obtain and there is a person with whom you can interact to resolve problems.

As a footnote, I own a Samsung.

Yea, i'm sure that google has provided you with "memorable quotes" over the years and i'm sure its 100% reliable from a company who rigorously tests the monitors tHat we all purchase, ive got a Dell 24" 1920x1080 hdmi monitor, > this one infact Scan.co.uk: 24" Dell S2409W HD Widescreen Monitor 1920x1080 HDMI 16:9 ratio
have you noticed that the price is £228.54, correct me if im wrong but the price of this 24" monitor is US Dollars right now is $368.08 I would call that a very significant price difference. Thusly the monitor you were looking at was
1) The wrong one Or
2) Overly Priced.

Since I do own the monitor, I have tested it using a DVI-HDMI adaptor, the image quality actually degrades, not only that, but using the D-SUB, the quality is far superior to HDMI connection. DVI is my regular connection preference, as I find this to be the best quality overall, i havent any "noticable lag" from the DVI input and video and gaming quality is very good indeed. I do prefer samsung but this monitor has a faster response time and a much higher contrast ratio than most monitors out today, and the 16:9 aspect ratio doesnt go amiss.
I have also attached pictures of the monitor you need to look for. Model No. S2409W.

My aplogies Mr Deeds, I got the price direct from Dell, based on your specs. You are right. It is overpriced.
