GPU-z confusing readout

my bro bought a new 55nm 9800gtx+ card, stats are here.

BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (BFGR98512GTXPOCE)

However, gpuz seems to list it as 65nm & only having 1125mhz on the memory clock speed whereas its supposed to be 2250mhz???

im slightly worried he may have got a dodgy card

Re: GPU-z confusing readout

Regarding the memory don't forget that it is DDR (GDDR3 actually, but the same applies), which is double data rate, which in this case means that it is running at 2250 MHz.

As far as the 55 mm, 65 mm; does he have the latest version of GPU-Z? It could just be a reporting glitch if it is a version that came out before the card did.

Re: GPU-z confusing readout

It is possibly reading it wrong, check to make sure you have the most updated version of GPU-Z. and it's possible that you actually have a 65nm card. the QC isn't that great at the GPU plants. I got a GTX 260 with everything 260, sticker and all, but it was actually a 280 under the sticker.. but sadly it didn't work right and I had to return it. I've heard of people getting regular card and it's got the FTW Bios.. pre overclocked. I've heard of people getting the normal eVGA GTX 260. yet everything is stock, and the Core Clock is higher, but it's not as high as there lowest pre oc'd card. sometimes they just get messed with at the plants. but I'm not sure they even made the + version in 65nm.. let me check.

Re: GPU-z confusing readout

in GPU-Z does it show it as a GTX+ cuz if I remember right, the + was the 55nm versions, and all the regular 9800GTX cards are 65nm, and the 55nm are the GTX+.

try updates first.
