Vista - vista internet problem! PLEASE HELP!

hi guys,
k so i got a virus tuesday, and i re-installed vista,
i have a dell inspiron 1525 for about a year now and the CD to reinstall vista
came w/ it so yeah
anyways
i have reinstalled vista,
and everything is working except my internet!!!!
i am using my brother's pc right now and this internet is working fine, my dads laptop is working 2!
we have a netgear wireless router
and vista is NOT recognizing it!
please help, cause i've called netgear and they've said that the problem is w/ dell
and these dell idiots wanna charge me $200!
so i figured i would ask here
plz plz plz plz help,
i need my internet to install itunes and stuff

You just need a driver for you network card. If you fill in your system specs (lower left corner of your posts) so we know what hardware you have.

then we need you router/modem info

I m sure you must have received some CD with the wireless router. As said by Ken, its just the driver that you will need to install and then configure the wireless router(a bit painful).

yeah i tried the CD no luck, it says i cant recognize the ethernet cable, but its n there

what model of network card? If you dont know you can take the express number on the computer and go to support.dell.com click on drivers and downloads, and enter your express number. It will find all the drivers you need. just need to tell it if you are 32bit or 64bit. You probably are 32bit.

download the drivers and install them, then reboot and it should work

What's the name and model # of the router?
Should be something like belkin, d-link or netgear.

express number is on the bottom of the computer its something like 1qncgc6
