Free Software List for Vista

It seems that Reptile v2.0 may not be free anymore. The download link for any version only opens to a blank page.

Sweet list. I have a few of those already (AVG, Spybot, CCleaner) but I love the GPU-Z.

It tells me I have only 64 MB graphics memory when I paid for 128... *fumes*

Thanks for the great list AND thanks for the advise in fixing the .exe association issue. My daughter was crying about my failing to fix the issue immediately! Happpiness in computing once again...until the next Vista problem!

I didn't see Virtual Box in the list. That should be right below or above Virtual PC.

and ...

There is MP3Tag .. it does quite a few sound formats and not just MP3.

Hope that makes up for the bummer I listed.

Great list, thanks. Nice to see alot of mainstream software is running under 64bit nicely. I was a bit concerned when i first took the plunge but i've not had a show stopping problem yet

I'm not sure where the warning advice arose, but Spybot is now at release 1.52 and there are no issues arising from using Immunization function in Vista x86 or x64!

Hi SoftwareTools,

Thank you for the update and confirming that Spybot no longer has this issue with it's Immunization feature.

The problem originally started with Windows Mail and sometimes IE7 being slow with these two installed: KB931768 Windows update and Spybot with Immunization turned on. You can see more on this in TWO here:
