Photoshop CS3 & Dreamweaver CS3 work on Vista X64 SP1?

Hi all,

Just got my new comp with Vista X64 with SP1.
Still doing so much time searching on all the software I install..

I plan to install Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3, however I'm not sure if it's compatible and fully function, error-free on a Vista X64 OS.

I understand you are able to run 32bit Apps, but just need a confirmation before I go ahead.

thanks guys:)

My Computer

I have 32bits Vista. I have installed both Photoshop CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3. It works like a charm!!

I am sure it would on x64 as well.

My Computer

I've got the Master Collection CS3,
And the only applications who DO install are:
Flash CS3 Professional
Flash CS3 Video Encoder
Illustrator CS3
InDesign CS3
Photoshop CS3

The rest, like AfterEffects, Premiere Pro and Dreamweaver wouldn't install on my pc.
Windows Vista Ultimate x64

Before installing in Vista Ultimate X64
Click Start in bottom left
Search for cmd
Right click and run as administrator
type or copy and paste
cd C:\Windows\SysWow64
then copy and paste
regsvr32 jscript.dll
then copy and paste
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
now you can install Photoshop CS3 by double clicking on setup

I google searched solution as I could not install photoshop cs3 extended on my vista x64 machine.
I found suggested solutions on a number of sites however instructions were not easy to follow
the clearest was on "my digital life"
"The problem is applicable for both 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows Vista. The solution for Internal Error 2739 problem is to re-register the JScript.dll (or optionally VBScript.dll) module in Windows Vista, as suggested in Adobe Forums."

"
  1. Run an elevated command prompt as Administrator.
  2. For Windows Vista 32-bit user, ensure that the command prompt is at C:\Windows\System32\ folder. For Windows Vista x64-bit, issue the following command to change to 64-bit folder in order to use the correct DLL files: cd ..\SysWow64
  3. Type the following command and hit Enter: regsvr32 jscript.dll
    and optionally (if problem persists),
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll
  4. Run the Adobe installer again.

I had personally problems with CS3 all adobe progs on X64 (very slow + BSOD)
No problems with CS2.
Seen on Adobe web site for CS3: Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (certified for 32-bit editions)

I have CS3 Master Collection and it was a terror to install. It took me weeks of messing with it to get all the applications to install and run correctly, but they all work fine now.

Biggest problem I found with x64 is Adobe Acrobat Pro won't install correctly by default, and even if you don't install it - your other CS3 apps may not register correctly because of its bug.

If you do a full install, then search Adobe for their Acrobat Vista x64 fix, and apply it BEFORE you run any applications the first time it will save you a lot of trouble later.

Found on the FAQ of Adobe site:

Do Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista?
While Adobe Creative Suite 3 software is natively 32-bit, these applications will run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista. For an in-depth overview of 64-bit computing and its value, please see the blog by Adobe Photoshop software architect Scott Byer.

I don't know how many of you are using Acer computers, but I just bought a new one and could not get Dreamweaver to load once installed. Turns out Acer's Security management was interfering. I found this link on another BB but it appears to be closed, so I'll post here (and say thanks to the person who offered up this solution. It worked for me, and several others on that BB--highdots.com/forums)

>>Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Acer eData Security Management. Run Dreamweaver. Hey presto. It works.<<

If you aren't using an Acer computer, maybe your machine still has some sort of security barrier messing things up?

Well, good luck everyone. Hope you get it to work, too.

It was suggested to me to use and play with the firewall settings. I toggled with them and have it working finally (fingers crossed). However I was having code disappear when transferring files from HD to Server, yeah I am serious. Home Premium 64 Bit HP M9350F.

However instead of using remote server i am using testing server and local files. Don't know that it makes a difference.

I can confirm that I had Photoshop CS3 & Dreamweaver CS3 working on Vista X64 SP1, indeed I had the CS3 Master Collection, all installed no problem. I now have CS4 Photoshop and CS4 Dreamweaver installed on Vista X64 SP1 all installed fine again.

I to am Looking for assistance with the installation of my Adobe CS3 Master Collection on my Vista x64 Gateway system.
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP1
Processor: AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor 2.20 GHz
Memory: 6 GB
Issue: Ran the installation as Admin, Insert my serial number and select all software. Installation begins however when it's done installing It then shows me all the software I selected with a Red X. No Error is ever given to better identify the problem all I get is a Red X next to each selected software.
Looking for assistance on how to resolve this issue. I have read that people are successfully utilizing the software on Vista x64 but after trying the many online solutions I find myself with Red X's rather the completed installations.

Is it the trial edition or a bought version? I didn't have problems with the install. Are you installing to default location C:// drive or to an external?
