Photoshop CS3 & Dreamweaver CS3 work on Vista X64 SP1?

This is the purchased version and did try the installation on both C drive and external to see what results I'd get. Both installations responded the same way. I even disabled my microsoft services in MSCONFIG and attempted the installation.

most recently I did the following:

Click Start in bottom left
Search for cmd
Right click and run as administrator
type or copy and paste
cd C:\Windows\SysWow64
then copy and paste
regsvr32 jscript.dll
then copy and paste
regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Still continued to get the same results.

Hi Alpha Wolf,

Even though some people have gotten Photoshop CS3 to run on Vista 64, (I myself run CS2 fine under x64), there are some CS programs that will not run under Vista x64, I believe Adobe Flash is one such example.

Have you called or checked Adobe's website to see if the CS3 Master Collection has issues with Vista 64? Or...which programs in the master collection has x64 issues.

The only "officially" 64-bit supported version of Adobe Photoshop is CS4, not sure about the master collection though...as odd as that may sound.

Actually, according to Adobe: These are 64 bit compatible under the master Collection (CS4):

Adobe Photoshop® Extended and Acrobat® Pro natively support 64-bit editions of Windows Vista. Adobe Premiere® Pro, After Effects®, Soundbooth®, Encore®, and Adobe OnLocation™ are certified on 64-bit Windows Vista.

At any rate I would check to with Adobe about the CS3 Master Collection.

Alpha Wolf, I think you've got some other error not related to Adobe. I've never seen that before. There are varying degrees of problems (mine installed without a hitch) but I've never seen them ALL fail like that. Maybe a reinstall of windows might help.

Is there anything odd or unusual about your computer or was it just bought at the store?

I just had this happen to a friend and once he turned Windows Defender off it installed! I hope this works. I tested it by turning defender on and uploads were slow and stripped. Turned it off and it worked right, Coincidence? I think NOT!
